About the New York Jets palette
The New York Jets were founded in 1959 and compete in the American Football Conference of the National Football League. Their primary colour, Gotham Green #125740, is a dark, muted teal.
The National Football League divides its thirty-two teams between two conferences, and uniform colour is regulated more tightly here than in any other major league: a team must register its colours with the league, and opposing teams are required to wear contrasting jerseys so that broadcast audiences can tell them apart.
Within the Eastern Division the Jets face Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots. Those are the matchups where two palettes appear in one frame, so they are the pairings most worth checking for a clash.
New York is also home to New York Giants and New York Yankees, which means local broadcast and print work often has to carry more than one of these palettes.
